Two juveniles accused of setting fire to a classroom

STANFORD, Ky. (WKYT) – Two juveniles have been arrested after police say they set fire to a middle school classroom.

In a Facebook post, the Stanford Police Department says the pair were arrested Wednesday.

Both are charged with arson and criminal mischief.

Crews were initially called to Lincoln County Middle School on Tuesday for a building fire.

When they arrived, they found smoke in the building and traced it to a single classroom.

The fire was contained to that classroom and extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

“We are grateful and fortunate that no injuries resulted from this very serious incident,” the Facebook post read. “We have always held and will continue to hold accountable those responsible for endangering or threatening the safety and well-being of Lincoln County Schools students and staff.”
