‘The Masked Singer’ Reveals Chess Piece’s Identity: Here’s Who Was Beneath The Disguise

“The Masked Singer” celebrated Barbie’s 65th birthday Wednesday night, with panelist Ken Jeong opening the evening with a cheeky rendition of “I’m Just Ken,” a popular song from the blockbuster movie 2023.

This week, the Group B singers came back and sang their hearts out for the Golden Mask Trophy, but in the end, Chess Piece was sent home.

“The Masked Singer” introduced Emmy Award-winning actress and LGBTQ advocate Laverne Cox, who rose to prominence for her role as Sophia Burset on the Netflix TV series “Orange Is the New Black.”

Following her revelation, the 52-year-old opened up about her fears of singing on stage.

“I have a lot of trauma around singing,” Cox shared. “There’s something about it that I thought with a mask on I can overcome some of those fears and I can overcome some of that trauma. I didn’t even realize how deep it was until I started.”

He continued: “What I had so much fun with tonight is that I got to sing and dance like I did when I was little, and it didn’t have to be right and it didn’t have to be perfect, and I had fun with luck, this is the beginning of further healing from this trauma.”

She called it a dream come true when Mattel created a Laverne Cox Barbie doll, a prominent hint revealed during the show.

“You are literally a role model, a trailblazer and an inspiration. We are so honored to have you grace our stage,” Jeong told Cox.

Next time on ‘The Masked Singer’

Next time, it’s time to get cool on “60s Night” in “The Masked Singer.” The show will open with a ‘fun’ rendition of The Beach Boys’ ‘Fun, Fun, Fun’ before Group B finalists (Bluebell, Wasp and Goo) sing their hearts out to secure a place in the quarter-finals end

Celebrities will pay tribute to the groovy era with songs like “House Of The Rising Sun”, “Do You Love Me” and “Ain’t No Way”.

All three contestants will face off, but only one is expected to survive the double elimination, unless the judges use the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell.

Only time will tell. Watch the new episode of “The masked singer” Wednesday, November 6 on FOX.
