A group of former Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders held a demonstration in Dhaka yesterday to protest the arrest warrant issued against Awami League President Sheikh Hasina and demanded immediate withdrawal of the cases filed against her. the former prime minister.

They took out the protest march in front of the Awami League head office at Bangabandhu Avenue in Gulistan on Monday morning.

Former BCL joint general secretary Anwar Hossain said, “Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country.”

He said they were protesting the “injustice against her with numerous false cases” and demanded immediate withdrawal of the cases.

Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister and fled the country on August 5 after the massive student-led uprising led to the ouster of her Awami League government. Following this, the party’s central office, Dhanmondi office and other party offices across the country were vandalized.

Since then, more than two hundred cases have been registered against Sheikh Hasina in connection with the killing of students and the public during the July-August violence that centered the student movement.

Earlier on October 17, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants against 54 people, including Sheikh Hasina.

She has been ordered to be arrested and brought before the court by November 18.

Also present in the procession were BCL former joint general secretary Jasim Uddin, public education secretary Abu Abbas Bhuiyan, Awami League member Swechasebak, Sheikh Muhammad Jamal Hossain, former BCL leaders Enamul Haque , Hasan Ahmed Khan, MM Nazmul Hasan, Sohel Rana, Parveen Mishu, Labani Chowdhury and Md Hasan among others.
