Liz Cheney refuses to call herself a Republican: “I’m a conservative”

Former republican deputy Liz Cheney she refused to call herself a Republican, choosing instead to label herself a “conservative” and rejected the idea that she was a member of “Donald Trump’s Republican Party”.

Cheney appeared on NBC News Meet the press Sunday with the host Kristen Welker, who pressed her about her status now that she had publicly endorsed the Democratic nominee.

Welker asked, “Congressman, do you still consider yourself a Republican and can you tell us about the conversation you had with your father when he decided to vote for Kamala Harris?”

“I’m a conservative,” Cheney replied.

“A Republican?” pressed the host.

The ex-congressman repeated his answer: “I’m conservative. I don’t consider myself a member of Donald Trump’s Republican party.”
