Riverdale schools close due to ‘threats of violence’

PORTLAND Hours. (KPTV) – Both Riverdale High School and Riverdale Middle School were placed on lockdown Tuesday after the Riverdale School District received an email containing “threats of violence,” the district said.

The district says they and other schools in the country named “Riverdale” received the threatening email and activated their internal safety protocols.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and the Portland Police Bureau were immediately contacted, and a search of both campuses confirmed that both buildings were safe.
