Arizona State announces updates to basketball game day experience

The college basketball season is here as the Arizona State women’s hoops opened the campaign with a win on Monday while the men’s team tips off on Tuesday night.

As the two programs begin their first seasons in the Big 12, ASU has announced some updates to the game day experience at Desert Financial Arena.

Many updates have been made under the hood. The 50-year-old building underwent approximately $15 million in infrastructure upgrades to improve the arena’s mechanical and electrical operations.

Fans will be able to partake in new menu items at the arena as well as ASU basketball legend bobblehead giveaways for James Harden and Briann January (dates TBA). ASU offers seated dining for courtside seating, and the Coors Light Club Chill has been revamped.

Adidas player edition jerseys of current student-athletes will also be available.

New signature foods based on ASU’s opponents include smoked ham and bear claw cheese against Baylor, Gator tacos versus Central Florida and a seafood boil when they visit Houston. New children’s meals will include a crustable, small popcorn and juice.

“Just as we introduced football this fall to Mountain America Stadium, we are enhancing the game day atmosphere at Desert Financial Arena to create unforgettable experiences for our fans and Sun Devil supporters of all ages,” said ASU Director of Athletics Graham Rossini. a press release.

“We continue to explore future improvements to the arena and new ways to continue to grow game day on campus.”

Rossini said shortly after he was hired this year, improving the game experience for ASU basketball has been a priority.

Arizona State begins its men’s basketball slate against Idaho State on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The game will be televised at 7:00 PM on 98.7 and the Arizona Sports app.
