Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been criticized for making a “very petty” move ahead of a major decision that left an expert questioning their timing.

Having been vocal advocates on numerous issues since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are normally at the forefront when it comes to supporting causes close to their hearts.

The couple created a new life through partnerships with Netflix and Spotify, creating quite a stir with their content. However, they have recently taken a step back from the limelight with no key statements from them.

Bronte Coy, a journalist for News.com.au who appeared on Royal exclusivity of the sun program, suggests that this quiet approach may be intentional.

She said: “I think he’s very intentional about not saying or releasing anything, really. Because these things have been in the diary for so long – the King’s tour (of Australia) and William’s homelessness project.”

Coy also speculated on potential PR missteps from the Sussex camp: “The optics are so bad where there have been some announcements to coincide with things like Kate finishing her chemotherapy video.

“I think there was an announcement from Sussex that day. Even if it’s not intentional on their part that they were released at the same time, the optics are that it’s pretty petty.”

Coy noted that such events were “very well publicized” and suggested that Harry and Meghan would certainly have been aware of these occasions, possibly avoiding certain dates before releasing any significant news.

This comes following revelations that the royal pair appear to be ‘going their separate ways’ on business matters.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have increasingly embarked on solo ventures of late as they seek to create their own distinct personal brands.

For Harry, his attention has been devoted to his charity work, while Meghan has retreated somewhat from the limelight to focus on growing her life’s bran, American Riviera Orchard.

This affair seems ready for a boost, linked to a future one Netflix series scheduled for next year.

Harry recently visited the UK for the WellChild Awards, traveled to Africa to witness the progress of HIV charity Sentebale, made appearances at a UN gathering in New York and spoke at a NATO conference on the Invictus Games .
