Flashback to 2020 and Justin Bieber faces more than one pressure. He faced legitimate allegations of sexual assault from two women on X (incidents occurred in 2014 and 2015). instead of being silent Bieber came back with a 20 million USD suit for defamation.

The woman claimed hit maker Yummy assaulted her in a hotel. But apparently he wasn’t even at the hotel that night. His lawyers slapped down evidence that he spent the night elsewhere with then-girlfriend Selena Gomez.

Not one to sit still, Bieber hit Twitter himself to address the chaos: “Rumors are rumors, but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly. I wanted to talk right away, but first I had to gather the facts.” And gather that he did. Along with the social media defense, Bieber’s lawyers launched a defamation action — demanding 10 million dollars from Danielle and a second accuser, Khadidja Djibrine, who presented her story.

Djibrine’s claim? That Bieber assaulted her in a New York hotel in 2015. Again, Bieber wasted no time poking holes in her story. His team claimed he was nowhere near the alleged hotel, showing photos of him at the Met Gala and an after-party in NYC the night Djibrine said the incident occurred.

But the legal drama did not end there. While Danielle stayed pretty quiet, Djibrine took matters into her own hands – literally. She represented herself in court, and after several failed attempts at mediation, it looked like the case might go to trial. The showdown was set for May 2023. That is, until Bieber decided to drop the mic… and the lawsuit.

Last March, Bieber’s legal team asked for the case to be dismissed. His lawyer Evan Spiegel confirmed it to The Times, saying, “Justin has decided to move forward and dismiss the defamation case filed in 2020.” Whether a deal was reached behind the scenes, we will never know.

With the lawsuit behind him, Bieber has put the courtroom drama behind him and continued his music. While the scandal may have made waves at the time, Bieber’s quick retorts and legal moves showed he wasn’t about to let the wild allegations define him. Even with the Twitter mobs on his back, he proved he can handle the heat and keep his cool.

The lesson? When life throws accusations at you on Twitter, Justin Bieber throws back evidence — and maybe even one 20 million dollars process.
