Donald Trump’s recent comments about former congresswoman Liz Cheney should be considered disqualifying for his presidential campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris said Friday.

At an event Thursday night in Arizona with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Trump was asked if it was strange to see Cheney campaigning against him.

Trump called Cheney “a troubled person” and added: “But the reason he couldn’t stand me is that he always wanted to go to war with people. If it were up to her, we’d be in 50 different countries.”

“He is a radical war hawk. Let’s have her standing shotgun with nine barrels firing at her. Okay, let’s see how he feels about it. You know, when guns are pointed in her face.” the former president continued.

Trump posted on his social network that he was expressing a view on Cheney’s foreign policy situation.

The former congresswoman has been vocal in her opposition to Trump since the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. She recently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris and appeared at events with her to reach out to Republicans unhappy with Trump.

Harris told reporters at the airport in Madison that he had not spoken to Cheney since Trump’s comments.

Harris and Trump will host dueling rallies in the Milwaukee area on Friday as part of a last-ditch push for votes in the swing state of Wisconsin.

Milwaukee is home to the most Democratic votes in Wisconsin, but its conservative suburbs are home to the most Republicans and are a critical area for Trump as he tries to reclaim the state he won in 2016 and lost in 2020.
