Windber man dies from injuries sustained in Croyle Township motorcycle crash

Cambria County officials say a Windber man has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident earlier this week.

Coroner Jeff Lees says Lee Wess, 36, was pronounced dead at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Thursday morning after being hospitalized for several days.

Investigators say Wess was westbound along Mill Road in Croyle Township late Sunday afternoon when he allegedly hit a guardrail and was thrown from his motorcycle.

Emergency officials say crews were dispatched to the scene around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities say Wess was then transported to Conemaugh Hospital.

Coroner Lees says Wess suffered accidental injuries from the crash.

Investigators noted that Wess was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A GoFundMe was created to help Wess’s family.
