Chappell Roan yells at ‘disrespectful’ photographer, apologizes

Singer Chappell Roan shouted a “disrespectful” photographer at a film premiere in Los Angeles.

When Roan, 26, posed for photos on the red carpet for Olivia Rodrigo’s “GUTS,” she recognized a photographer who allegedly yelled at her at the Grammys.

In a viral fan video, the singer angrily approached the unidentified photographer and yelled, “You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys.”

“You yelled at me at the Grammy party. Yes. Yes… At the Universal after party. i remember You were so rude to me and I deserve to apologize for that. Yes, yes, yes, yes. No, no, you must apologize to me.”

A member of the team then intervened after Roan confronted the photographer. It is not known if he received an apology.

The heated exchange came a month after she clashed with a photographer at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.

In a similar incident, a photographer shouted at the singer to “shut the hell up”.

She immediately turned around, pointed her finger at the photographer after a rude comment was made and replied: “You shut the hell up.”

“Cheers, baby!” the singer added: “No! Not me b—-!” A voice was heard in the background encouraging her, saying, “Tell them, girl!”

Roan, born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, explained what happened during the tense encounter.

“It’s pretty overwhelming and pretty scary,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “For someone who gets a lot of anxiety from people yelling at you, the carpet is awful and I yelled back. You can’t yell at me like that.”

The “Pink Pony Club” singer’s viral red carpet moment comes after she previously accused some fans of harassment, harassment and “predatory behavior” in scathing social media posts.

“For the past 10 years, I’ve been going non-stop to build my project and I’ve reached the point where I have to draw lines and set limits. I’ve wanted to be an artist for a very long time,” she said in a lengthy Instagram post.

“I just have to put it out there and remind you that women don’t owe you anything,” she added. “I chose this career because I love music and art and I honor my inner child, I do not accept bullying of any kind for choosing this path nor do I deserve it.”

The singer drew a fine line in her statement after pointing out “predatory behavior,” which she clarified is “disguised as ‘superfan’ behavior.”
