Palakkad DCC rejects letter claiming Muraleedharan is ‘suitable candidate’ for poll | Kerala News | The partial election of the Assembly

Palakkad: The Palakkad District Congress Committee (DCC) leadership has denied the authenticity of a recently surfaced letter suggesting the Congress candidate for the upcoming Palakkad Assembly by-election. The purported letter recommends K Muraleedharan as the Congress candidate.

DCC president A Thankappan explained that the committee had sent many letters to the central management on various issues and the management took the final call. Thankappan confirmed that the letter circulating in the media does not bear his signature. Furthermore, several DCC holders stated that they were unaware that the President had sent any such letter.

According to the DCC president’s letter to the Congress leadership, Muraleedharan is considered an ideal choice to retain his seat. The letter further claims that all DCC functionaries support Muraleedharan’s candidature, saying he is well-positioned to effectively challenge the BJP.
