Hoda Kotb Reveals New Project After Departing ‘Today’: ‘I’m Super Excited’

Hoda Kotb may be leaving the today showbut he assured fans that he won’t be stepping out of the spotlight when announcing his new project.

“I have something that I’m really excited about that’s in its infancy,” Hoda, 60, said. people about his upcoming plans in a story published on Friday, October 11. “It’s a whole wellness situation, and that enlightened me just with things that I’ve been working on and doing for myself.”

Hoda then explained that she’s “learned to do a bunch of different things with breathing and whatnot through friends,” including Jenna Bush Hager, Maria Shriver and more “And I loved it,” he shared.

The broadcast reporter said the project is still in the early stages of getting a “really good wellness app and doing wellness retreats and things like that.”

“I think it would be number one, fun and number two, useful,” Hoda said. “When I learned some of these things, I was like, ‘Wait, why do I feel like my baseline feels less stressed? Why do I feel like this?’ So I was talking about those things, and the more you’re interested the more you go down that path.”

Although her latest business venture is still “on the way,” Hoda said “it’s something I’m excited to explore and see what’s out there.”

The mother-of-two announced her latest project two weeks after she revealed she was leaving her long-running gig at today show

“As I write this, my heart is all over the map,” he wrote in a letter to his NBC co-workers about the decision. “I know I’m making the right decision, but it hurts. And you all are right. They say two things can be good at the same time, and I’m sorry right now. I love you and it’s time for me to leave the program”.

After admitting she had been “doubting this decision for quite some time”, she said she realized it on her 60th birthday. “I saw everything so clearly: my television career has been more than significant, a new decade of my life is ahead of me, and now my daughters and my mother need and deserve a bigger share of my pie time,” Hoda continued. “I’m going to miss you guys desperately, but I’m ready and excited.”

“My time at NBC has been the longest professional love of my life,” he added in the letter. “But only because you’ve been by my side in this twenty-six-year adventure. Looking back, the math is crazy. 26 years at NBC News – Ten years a Date lineseven past seven, sixteen past ten. I’m imagining your faces and your families and all the ways you’ve lifted me up and inspired me. This is my singing heart. Many of my professional relationships have turned into some of my most cherished friendships.

Fans don’t have to say goodbye to Hoda just yet, as her departure from the show won’t take place until January 2025.
