CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Here’s all the information on where and how you can get rid of extra or old prescription drugs to prevent addiction and reduce overdose deaths.

A statement from the DEA said that drug overdoses claim more than 300 lives every day, and that most people who misuse prescription drugs got the drug from a family member or friend.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Cleveland District Office is gearing up for the 27th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, scheduled for October 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to a statement, the event offers free and anonymous disposal at more than 4,000 local collection points across the country.
