The high court suspends the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua

On Friday, October 18, the High Court issued an injunction to stop the process to fill the vice-presidential vacancy following Gachagua’s impeachment.

Judge Chacha Mwita, on Friday October 18, suspended the proceedings until the case brought by a beleaguered Gachagua was heard and determined.

In his ruling, Mwita said the pleadings and supporting affidavits by Gachagua’s lawyers had merit and therefore satisfied the court to issue the suspension order.
