Early morning shooting in Lebanon leads to police investigation, two injured

The Lebanon Police Department reports they are investigating a shooting incident overnight.

Around 2:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, Lebanon PD responded to a report of a man found lying on the ground with a possible gunshot wound in the vicinity of 95 East Sherman Street in Lebanon.

The man was transported to a medical facility for treatment of his injuries.

Detectives with the Lebanon Police Department and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office say initial findings suggest an altercation between a group of individuals led to an exchange of gunfire in the area of ​​76 East Sherman Street, ultimately resulting in two people injured by gunshot.

“The Lebanon PD is actively reviewing the circumstances surrounding this incident and is working to determine the sequence of events and identify any individuals involved,” the LPD said.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the community and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

“Our priority remains keeping our community safe,” LPD said. “We are committed to uncovering the facts surrounding this incident.”
