Price, specs, is it cheaper than other iPads?

Apple has unveiled its latest iPad mini 7, now available for purchase in India and 28 other countries. The new device, which features an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, is powered by Apple’s A17 Pro chipset, which offers a significant boost in performance. It is also compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro and works with the latest iPadOS 18.

iPad Mini: Price in India, Availability

The iPad mini hit the shelves on October 23, with prices starting at Rs 49,900 for the Wi-Fi version and Rs 64,900 for the mobile model. It is available in four colors, including the newly introduced shades of blue and purple. Customers can purchase it through Apple’s official website and authorized retailers, both online and in stores.

iPad Mini: Is it the cheapest iPad?

The regular iPad is priced at Rs 34,900 for the 64GB model, while the 256GB model is priced at Rs 49,900.

The price of the 11-inch iPad Air starts at Rs 59,900, while the 13-inch iPad Air starts at Rs 79,900.

Finally, the 11-inch iPad Pro starts at Rs 99,900, while the 13-inch iPad Pro starts at Rs 1,29,900.

So, as we can see, the vanilla iPad is still the cheapest Apple tablet you can buy.

iPad Mini: Specifications and features

Under the hood, the iPad mini 7 features the A17 Pro chip, first seen in last year’s iPhone 15 Pro, which provides a 30% improvement in CPU speed and a 25% increase in graphics performance % faster compared to its predecessor. The Neural Engine is also twice as fast, optimizing compatibility with the latest Apple features.

The design remains consistent with the 2021 model, still with the 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2266 x 1488 at 326 ppi. For photos and video calls, it includes a 12 MP front camera with Center Stage support and a 12 MP rear camera equipped with Smart HDR 4.

Connectivity has also been improved, with Wi-Fi 6E support, a faster USB-C port with speeds of up to 10 Gbps and a 5G-enabled cellular option. Storage options have been expanded, starting at 128GB and up to 512GB, giving users more flexibility. Additionally, the tablet now supports the new Apple Pencil Pro, improving the overall user experience.
