My sister-in-law tried to cut me off with her Mercedes in Tesco in a ‘campaign of terror’ – I’ve never done anything to her other than marry her brother.

A woman who tried to intimidate her sister-in-law into nearly mowing her down in a Tesco car park subjected her to a “campaign of terror” for several years, the victim claimed today.

Nicola Hewitson, 56, lay in wait outside the shop in Poole, Dorset, before speeding her £35,000 Mercedes B-Class into her brother’s wife, Michelle Jennings, as she emerged pushing a trolley.

Shocking footage showed Hewitson appearing to be about to slash Mrs Jennings before turning around and shouting “I’m going to kill you”.

Hewitson, from the affluent seaside village of Canford Cliffs, was found guilty on Tuesday and slapped with an 18-month conditional discharge, which she appealed today.

However, now speaking in an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Mrs Jennings and her husband of 18 months Mark Hewitson, 55, ‘bullied’ the accused for years.

‘I just want a quiet life. I have never, ever had to deal with anything like this in my life. Never before,” Ms. Jennings explained.

Hewitson then turned round and called out through an open window:

Hewitson then swung around and shouted through an open window: “I’m going to fucking kill you.”

“It was one thing to have someone not like you, but to have someone hate you to the point of death, it’s just another level. And that’s been pretty hard to deal with. I don’t think of her as my family, but it’s been very complicated”.

‘I just want it to stop. I’ve never done anything to her other than marry her brother,” she added. ‘It doesn’t make sense to me. It’s been an absolute nightmare for a few years. We’ve tried to do our own thing, but it just keeps coming back.’

Her husband, who she has been with for seven years and shares a three-year-old daughter with, added: “It’s been going on for years and years and years.”

“I don’t understand everything, but unfortunately he’s relentless. Telling the townspeople what he’s going to do and stuff like that.

“We thought this guilty verdict for stalking and menacing would be it, but she just appealed, which means Michelle might have to testify again, which we don’t need.”

The family feud began just six months after Mr Hewitson began his relationship with Ms Jennings.

The couple, who live just two miles down the road from their “nightmare” relative, say they still don’t know what the real cause of the long-running argument was.

“I can’t identify a situation where all of a sudden she thought I didn’t like her anymore. It was a gradual thing, I just didn’t like her,” said Ms Jennings, who works providing prosthetics for women with breast cancer. mom

“She’s a criminal, I’m not and I don’t think she liked me being a ‘goody-two-shoes’ or in her circle. I’m different from her and I don’t think she likes it.”

“The further we got into our relationship, the angrier he got,” added Hewitson. “I moved on to do my own thing and my company is doing well now and I think Nicola is very bitter and jealous about that.

‘Now it has just manifested itself. We go somewhere and see them, Nicola is very verbally abusive. We tried to get a restraining order, but the court denied it.

“So now we’re back to the same position. Our friends used to go to a pub for lunch every Sunday, but now we can’t go there in case she’s there. She’s just started this hate campaign against Shelly for no reason. She’s a terror campaign

Over the years, the couple claimed Hewitson had made a number of threats over the years.

On one occasion, they said he was drunk in a bar telling mutual friends he was going to “kill” Ms Jennings claiming she was “prepared to go to jail for six years” for the crime.

On another note, they say Hewitson posted his new home address on all social media.

Video footage shown in court showed the moment Hewitson drove up to Ms Jennings on January 19 this year.

Ms Jennings gave Hewitson, who was driving with her cancer-stricken father in the passenger seat, the middle finger. The incident was caught on CCTV from the Branksome Tesco branch and was played in court.

The victim added today: “The strangest thing was that I knew he would. When I looked to the right as I crossed the road to get my car, I saw his license plate on the peripheral and I thought, oh my god, I know what will he do

“I walked like a snail, so slowly, because I knew what I was going to do. And when I started to walk, I felt the accelerator go and I froze. I put up my middle finger but then I got to my car and I broke down”.

Leah Dillon, prosecuting, told Poole magistrates: “Miss Hewitson was not happy that Miss Jennings had married the defendant’s brother.

“There was some planning because the car was parked outside. Miss Jennings had a good look at the traffic and saw that the defendant’s vehicle had pulled away and was coming towards her.

“Miss Hewitson drove towards Miss Jennings and then, as she approached her, brushed and swerved around her.

“She was screaming out the window and said ‘I’m going to fucking kill you’ and called her fat. The victim gave her the middle finger in response. The defendant later sent Miss Jennings a message about incident

Ms Dillon read Miss Jennings’ victim impact statement. She claimed she had been subjected to a “reign of terror” by Hewitson.

She said: “Even shopping is now a daunting task for me. I now avoid local gatherings because of the verbal abuse I get. It has reached unprecedented levels. It’s a reign of terror.

Julian Hardy, defending, said: “Miss Hewitson is disappointed that the court did not find in her favour. She has been accommodating throughout the proceedings.

“His father died in March this year of cancer and he had previously been estranged from his mother and brother.

“Miss Hewitson lives a stable lifestyle and has held a position as property manager for 20 years and this is a position with a high level of trust.

“You can be satisfied that there will be no more trouble.”

Hewitson was given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £600 in costs and fines.

He has since appealed the case.

Speaking after the case, Mrs Jennings said: “I’m glad it’s over and I hope it leaves me and my family alone. We just don’t want anything to do with her. Mark and I are really devastated because have not been given a restraining order.
