“It’s hard to believe the Beacon Jams were over three years ago,” Anastasio reflected earlier this year in an open letter. “I remember the deep feelings of gratitude when so many people came together and generously supported the cause of addiction recovery. It was humbling and inspiring. I have the same feelings today as the Retreat has now opened of residential recovery Divided Sky It’s been a real odyssey, with many twists and turns since the last Beacon Jams in November 2020… We’ve been fortunate to collaborate with leaders in the sober music community and Phellowship, and other qualified professionals who offer their volunteers, it’s time to help develop our technology and our proximity to the community.”

“Not everyone who struggles with addiction needs full-scale medical intervention,” Anastasio continued at the time, “and even those who need medical detox often need a place to go after that step, to continue to heal. Divided Sky offers this place of support where guests can relax in sobriety surrounded by a community full of love and hope. … We’re keeping it affordable, with scholarships available for those in need and we make sure that no activations are rejected due to their inability to pay. We are regularly hearing stories from people who have successfully passed the program. This is incredibly rewarding To each and every person who has been a part of this, I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. This has been an incredibly rewarding journey, none of which would be possible without you all.”

He added: “I want to end with the most important message of all. If you or a loved one is in a cycle of alcoholism or drug addiction that you can’t see a way out of, and there seems to be no hope, I promise that you can quit drugs and quit drinking. There’s a beautiful life waiting for you and it’s available to everyone.”
