Dalljiet Kaur says ex-husband Shalin Bhanot hasn’t been checking on her son: ‘Not a single…’

Dalljiet Kaur, who married Kenyan businessman Nikhil Patel in March 2023, has been open about her marital challenges. In a recent interview with Galatta India, she opened up about her ex-husband Shalin Bhanot, with whom she shares her son, Jaydon. Dalljiet revealed that Shalin has not contacted her son for over a year and has shown no interest in why she and Jaydon returned from Kenya.

Dalljiet explained: “With my ex, there’s been no communication for about a year, maybe more. He hasn’t really reached out, so I don’t have any communication. I tried to be friendly with him for nine years. Every time he asked to meet Jaydon, I would never refuse. I was very happy to meet him because I thought he was good for Jaydon. I was more than happy to meet Jaydon.”

Dalljiet wondered why Shalin showed no interest in finding out what happened in Kenya that made her and Jaydon come back to India. She asked, “Don’t you want to check on your son? Don’t you want to know what happened from the horse’s mouth? You have my number. The world wants to know. Don’t you want to know? But that’s their karma,” she said.

Dalljiet said “not a single message” had come out of Shalin’s end. “He was always a pattern to reach for. I made it a point for him to meet Nikhil. I asked him to come to Kenya, stay with us, it will be good for Jaydon. He said yes, yes. And then gayab,” he added.

Dalljiet Kaur and Shalin Bhanot’s relationship started on the sets of Kulvaddhu in 2006, and the two got married in 2009. Soon after, they welcomed their son, Jaydon. However, in 2015, their marriage took a worrying turn. Dalljiet filed for divorce, accusing Shalin of domestic violence, which drew a lot of attention to their separation. She was awarded custody of her son after the divorce was finalized.

Even after their separation, Dalljiet tried to maintain a connection between Shalin and Jaydon, allowing visits. But recently, she revealed that Shalin hasn’t contacted Jaydon for over a year.

In 2023, Dalljiet went ahead and remarried Nikhil Patel, starting a new chapter in her life. They are now separated.
