4 held for stealing mobile phones at a music concert in Kharadi

Pune: Chandannagar Police arrested four men, three of whom were residents of Mumbai and one from Hyderabad, on charges of stealing mobile phones from attendees of an international DJ concert in the open field of an English medium school in Kharadi on Friday night.
Police recovered 36 mobile phones worth Rs 4.87 lakh from his possession.
Chandannagar Police Assistant Inspector Siddhant Khandekar identified the arrested men as Sayyed Mohammed Indris Shaikh (21), Lokesh Hanumant Pujari (31) and Pappu Bhagirathi Vaishya (24), all residents of Mumbai, and Akhil Venkatramana Godavari (24 ) from Hyderabad. .
Khandekar told TOI, “Some of the people who attended the concert approached us with complaints of mobile theft. When our team started checking the area, we saw a man moving suspiciously and we stopped for questioning. He resorted to evasive answers, prompting our team to check on him and recover a few cell phones.”
The officer said: “The man was detained and questioned further, during which he ended up revealing the names of other accomplices. We searched them and they located each of them. Later, we recovered some more mobile phones , as the total seizure was 36 phones. Rs 4.87 lakh.”
Khandekar said, “During interrogation, the men told us that they visit concerts of popular DJs and singers, which are attended by an affluent section of the society. The suspects know that these people carry expensive phones with them and steal them,” he said. said Khandekar. he said “They keep moving around different parts of the country stealing mobile phones. They sell these phones at cheaper prices in Mumbai and other cities,” he said.
