The iconic Karate Kid The franchise will return to the big screen with Karate Kid: Legends, a highly anticipated sequel that reunites the stars of the original film, Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan, alongside a rising young talent, Ben Wang. Macchio returns to play Daniel LaRusso, the underdog who overcame adversity to become a karate champion. Chan returns as Mr. Han, the wise and enigmatic mentor who guided LaRusso to victory. The film introduces Li Fong, an up-and-coming young martial artist played by Wang, who becomes Han’s protégé, mirroring the relationship between LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi.

According to a report from Variety, the trailer for the film, unveiled at New York Comic Con, offers a glimpse of the intense martial arts action and emotional depth that fans can expect. Set in Beijing, the story follows LaRusso as he reunites with Han, who has been searching for him. Han reveals that he has found a new student, Li Fong, and is determined to train him in the ways of karate.

Although their teaching styles may be different, LaRusso and Han must join forces to guide Li Fong on his martial arts journey. The trailer shows exciting fight sequences, including a thrilling alley confrontation where Li Fong uses his agility and skill to defeat a bully. Wang’s impressive martial arts background, honed through years of training in karate, wing chun/kung fu, gumdo, kempo and taekwando, is evident in his captivating performance.

The film’s supporting cast includes Ming-Na Wen, who plays Li Fong’s mother. Joshua Jackson and Sadie Stanley also join the cast. Jonathan Entwistle is in charge of Karate Kid: Legends. Rob Lieber, screenwriter of Peter Rabbit, has written the screenplay for the film, and Karen Rosenfelt is producing.
