Manyata Technology Park reacts to viral video and denies ‘waterfall’ claims.

Reacting to viral social media posts claiming that there was a waterfall on its campus caused by a landslide, Embassy Manyata Business Park, one of Bangalore’s largest tech hubs, issued a statement denying such an event.

On October 16, during the rain, social media posts about an alleged “waterfall” at the Embassy Manyata Business Park campus went viral. Videos circulating on social media showed soil, loosened by heavy rains, uprooting trees and sending muddy water into a foundation pit, which some jokingly commented as “Manyata Tech Falls.”

The same day, quickly responding to the false claims, Embassy Office Parks REIT, which operates the technology park, said that while they faced waterlogging at the facility, it was resolved in two or four hours.

In a statement, they said: “Through the development of a new culvert, a critical flood mitigation measure to manage water flow, along with the annual disinfection and raising of the nala embankment, the positioning strategic external rainwater tanks and the deployment of high-capacity drainage systems that cleared floodwaters from roads in two to four hours, our teams on the ground ensured business continuity. In addition, internal stormwater drainage systems were activated to manage excess water flow, effectively minimizing disruption.”
