Megan Thee Stallion In Her Words Doc Trailer: Struggles After Mother’s Death

Megan Thee Stallion looks back on her mother’s role in the origins of her career and how she struggled after her mother’s death in the trailer for her upcoming documentary In his wordsstreaming on Amazon Prime Video on October 31.

The trailer opens with Megan telling the camera, via video of her performance, that she will be canceling her shows.

“I’m not having fun right now and I don’t want to,” he says. “And I have a feeling what Megan Thee Stallion might be like, and I’m not kidding.”

The trailer then shows an animated look at Megan growing up and her bond with her mother.

“I wouldn’t be here without my mom,” he says. “My mom was like a gangsta rapper. I was like, ‘When I grow up, I really want to be like her.’

But when her mother died in 2019, after Megan had launched her career, she was “in a slump,” as the “Savage” rapper puts it.

“I think I really forgot who I was. And when life started to get crazy, I didn’t have it,” she recalls.

Megan talks about the struggle in the wake of her mother’s death, explaining that she experienced a “backlash,” being shot by Tory Lanez, and “betrayal.”

“I had really had a real crisis,” he was shown saying while hugging someone while crying.

She explains that Megan Thee Stallion is trying to protect her true self from Megan Pete and shares that she wants people to understand her emotions.

“I want people to understand how this is affecting me,” she says of the footage of her crying. “I want people to see how I feel.”

The trailer ends triumphantly, with fans sharing how much they love her and Megan saying, “I’ve been through shit, but I’ve been through shit.”
