Snowport returns to Seaport next month – here’s what’s new for 2024

Each year, Snowport transforms Boston’s Seaport District into a winter wonderland filled with lights, vendors, food and more.

This year, the festival season will start on Friday 8 November and will last until Sunday 29 December.

New this year at Snowport are five food concepts and the ability to make a timed reservation at the event.

Holiday Market

Snowport will once again feature the annual holiday market. The Outdoor Market will feature more than 120 small businesses: 22 percent are new to the market, 65 percent are from New England and 83 percent are minority and/or women-owned, according to event organizers.

Shoppers can find a wide variety of holiday gifts, including art, accessories, clothing, jewelry, home decor, gourmet treats and handmade jewelry. A full list of vendors can be found online.

After browsing for gifts, visitors can sit in the 10,000-square-foot outdoor dining area, complete with a themed après-ski lounge, fire pits and a heated tent.

The space has 17 food and drink concepts, five of which are new this year. Guests can enjoy signature cocktails or mocktails from each of Snowport’s festively themed bars, including Jingle Bar, The Dizzy Dreidel and The Blizzard Bar. Other food vendors are:

  • Baked cheese haus (Returning): Swiss-style raclette
  • red fin (Returning): Bisques, soup and lobster mac and cheese
  • Breezy Hill Orchard (Returning): Donuts and cider
  • Cheese Louise (Return and new): Grilled cheese and new soup station
  • Cheese wheel pasta (Returning): Serve custom-made pasta on giant cheese wheels
  • Dumpling daughter (New): Dumplings and baos
  • Eloti (New): Corn and churros on the street
  • French crepes (Returning): Sweet and savory French crepes
  • The Half Cookie (New): Gourmet cookies in classic and seasonal flavors
  • Bocadillo’s (formerly The Nada Cart) (return): empanadas
  • Northeast of the Border (Returning): tacos
  • Pennypacker’s (Returning): Porchetta sandwiches and sweet beignets
  • Clarke’s Cakes and Cookies (Returning): Vegetable sweets and vegan hot cocoa
  • Tuscan cuisine (Returning): Favorite Italian street food like arancini, meatballs and fried ravioli
  • ZaZ Food Truck (Returning): Caribbean Chicken, Hush Puppies, Coconut Shrimp, Loaded Seafood Fries, and Vegan Jackfruit

For the first time this year, visitors can also book a scheduled reservation at Snowport through the Seaport Insider app.

The app will sell tickets and allow people to book a 30-minute tour. Timed bookings are available on weekends (Friday to Sunday). Tickets for timed entry start at $12 per adult, $6 per veteran and $6 per child 6-17. Children under 5 are free and free entry to Snowport is free.

Other highlights at Snowport include:

  • Free Ice Free Curling (Daily): Curlers can book daily curling trips with friends or sign up for lessons throughout Snowport. Free classes will be offered on select Saturdays from 2-4pm. Lane reservations can be made in advance online.
  • Snow Harbor Tree Market (daily): The Snowport Tree Market is located on The Holiday Market block at 99 Autumn Lane, off Harbor Way. Will be selling trees, wreaths, kiss balls, tree stands and lights. Shoppers can load trees directly into their vehicles or schedule a delivery directly to their home.
  • Light Up Seaport (Friday, December 6 from 5 to 9 p.m.): Boston’s largest holiday tree, standing 52 feet tall and adorned with more than 10,000 lights, will be lit at this Snowport’s annual tree lighting ceremony. The event will feature live performances and a meet and greet with Snowport’s mascot, Betty the Yeti, at Betty’s Blizzard Bluff in The Superette Courtyard.
  • Annual Menorah Lighting (Sunday, December 29, 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.): Seaport will celebrate Hanukkah with a Menorah Lighting Celebration with Chabad of Downtown Boston from 4-6pm on Sunday, December 29th. Traditional treats will also be served, including kosher jelly donuts and chocolate ice cream.
  • Sightings of Betty the Yeti: Take a photo with Betty the Yeti when she visits Betty’s Blizzard Bluff at The Superette Courtyard in Boston from 12-3pm on December 27th, January 5th, January 19th, February 2nd, February 16th and February 19th .
  • New Year’s Eve Ice Sculpture Walk (Tuesday, December 31): Seaport will participate all day in the “Boston Harbor Now New Year’s Ice Sculpture Walk” on Tuesday, December 31st. The event will feature several large-scale ice sculptures, including one of Betty the Yeti and others from the neighborhood.

Snowport is located at 100 Seaport Blvd. and will be open seven days a week from November 8 to December 29.

The festival is open from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
