Last season, the NBA world got to see a tremendous matchup between Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns.

It was a special moment for Edwards because he was defended by his idol Durant and was able to beat him.

In fact, Edwards’ Timberwolves swept Durant’s Suns in the first round of the playoffs.

On the Netflix show “Starting 5,” Edwards revealed the talk he gave to Durant during the game.

“I’m like, ‘KD, come on, KD. You’re not a defensive player … But he accepted the challenge of guarding me and I was happy,” Edwards said, via ClutchPoints .

Edwards was obviously very pleased to see Durant try to shut him down.

He has said that Durant is his favorite player of all time and obviously his hero.

The fact that he was able to beat someone who meant so much to him meant a lot to Edwards.

For many people, this was a changing of the guard moment, an instance in which Edwards rose to become one of the biggest names in the game.

But will history repeat itself this year?

Although the Timberwolves were able to easily defeat the Suns, they still couldn’t make it all the way to the finals.

They were impressive and Edwards was able to outplay Durant, but the Timberwolves couldn’t accomplish their goals.

That’s why this season will be such a big test.

Can Edwards and his team overcome their obstacles and become the best team in the West?

If so, this moment between Durant and Edwards will be even more important.
