The Green Shirts had suffered a rather embarrassing defeat by an innings and 47 runs at the hands of the visitors.

Defending its decision to drop the top players, the PCB said the move was aimed at allowing the cricketers to rest a bit so that they can come back again.

The second Test will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium, just like the first match, while the third and final match of the series will begin at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 24.
