Jessica Chastain Reacts to Backlash After Complaining About JetBlue Credit

Jessica Chastain may be one of the biggest stars in the world with an Oscar and a Golden Globe, but deep down she’s one of us. That’s when it comes to flying frustrations. However, their complaints had nothing to do with the lack, snacks or delays.

The actress, known for roles that include The Help i Tammy Faye’s eyes, posted on X (formerly Twitter) about JetBlue offering him a $15 credit to make up for the inflight entertainment system crash.

In a since-deleted post (is anything really deleted on social media?) from Wednesday. On Oct. 9 at X, Chastain wrote, “Thank you @JetBlue for your $15.00 credit. My flight was $1,500 and the credit is 1/100th of the money I paid you.”

The 47-year-old included a screenshot of an email from the airline about the credit. He continued, “It’s weird that I paid this much for your inflight entertainment system that didn’t work during my 6 hour flight, but I guess it was worth it for that $15 credit.”

In response, JetBlue’s account asked the actress to DM them so they could “look into” her issue. She continued the conversation according to the since-deleted post with a reply that read, “I understand, but I spent $1500 on the flight and so did my husband.” For those keeping score, Chastain’s husband is fashion executive Gian Luca Passi of Preposulo. The couple married in 2017 and have two children together.

The actress told JetBlue, “There should be some flight credit or something since I have a TrueBlue account and have been a loyal customer.” There’s no word on the level of frequent flyer Mosaic he might have had.

Regardless, the company responded that no matter what “flight membership status or the amount of money spent on tickets, each customer would receive the same $15 credit.”

The exchange certainly got social media talking. the challenge i Real World: Brooklyn student Chet Channon said he said, “I’ve tried to think of the hurricane victims, but Jessica Chastain’s sadness at no onboard entertainment recently is still too overwhelming.”

Another user added: “The ironic part is that you had a screen, which you used to complain about, which could have entertained you.”

One related to his frustration, “The same thing happened to me on a flight from New York to San Francisco. The $15 can only be used on one Jet Blue flight for one year. They have little money and bad policies. That’s why a once-loyal passenger like me won’t be bothered when it goes bankrupt.”

One user thought he had reason to be angry, saying: “You have no idea how much I’m rooting for you here. A broken IFE system for any flight over 3 hours is unacceptable – FULL REFUND!”

Another offered some advice, suggesting: “You don’t have to do it publicly. You’re still amazing.”

It doesn’t look like Chastain will be making any JetBlue announcements anytime soon. what did you think Jessica Chastain’s JetBlue frustrations? Let us know in the comments below.
