A man found dead in Sirsa, guilty of drug addiction

A man’s body was found in the overgrown bushes of Sector 3, HUDA, Kalanwali in Sirsa on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Vikas, a resident of Ward No. 1 near Shani Dev Temple. According to his family, he had a history of drug addiction, and they had tried to help him overcome it by sending him to rehabilitation centers in Bathinda and Sangaria, but to no avail. Vikas, who was missing since Thursday evening, was found dead the next morning.

The deceased, who was a clothes seller, has a wife and an 11-month-old son. His family members, heartbroken by his death, said he had fallen into bad company and it led him down the path of drug abuse.

The area, where his body was found, has long been a center of criminal activity. Despite repeated requests from residents to clean up the area, local authorities have not initiated any action. These overgrown areas are known for illegal activities such as drug trafficking and even prostitution.
