Martha Stewart admits to cheating on husband and more shocking revelations in Netflix documentary

The first trailer for Netflix’s upcoming Martha Stewart documentary just came out, and it doesn’t disappoint. If the teaser is any indication, the 83-year-old lifestyle icon won’t hold back.

Stewart makes the jaw-dropping revelation that she cheated on her then-husband Andy Stewart. She offers pearls of wisdom aimed at young women saying, “If you’re married and your husband starts cheating on you, that’s a bit of shit.” The lifestyle guru tells them at that point, “Get out of this marriage.”

The voice on the other end of the camera follows up with, “Didn’t you have an affair early?” She replied: “Yes, but I don’t think Andy ever knew. Later in the trailer, Stewart isn’t sure what’s more important, a marriage or a career. The tycoon has only had one husband, a publisher named Andrew Stewart She revealed to people that they met on a blind date when he was a Yale law student.

The two married in 1961 after a year of dating. They had a daughter together, Alexis, about four years later. They spent nearly three decades together before separating and then divorcing in 1990. The documentary clip doesn’t delve into the details of Stewart’s infidelity, but it does take a look at the different facets of his life that will be covered . Among them, “What does it mean to be the first self-made billionaire in American history?”

Dubbed the original influencer, Stewart cast the cookie-cutter mold and perfect box where audiences and business owners wanted to put her from the start. She says, “I’m strict and demanding and all those good things that make a successful person.” Another doc talking head adds that it’s a great trait for a man, but for a woman, you’re considered an ab*tch. The best-selling cookbook author said: “I could have been a miserable housewife. But I didn’t let that happen to myself and I’m so glad I didn’t.”

Stewart also doesn’t understand the insider-trading scandal 20 years ago and her five-month stint in prison in 2005. She was eventually found guilty of conspiracy, obstruction and two counts of lying to federal investigators.

“I was a trophy for these idiots,” he says in the clip. “They dragged me into solitude, without food or water.” It was described in the teaser as an ab*tch hunt. Reflecting on all that today, Stewart tells the producer, “Those prosecutors should have been put in a Cuisinart and staged.”

Stewart would bounce back from the bottom and rebuild his empire in a big way, as seen in the trailer, breaking out even more as a personality after prison. Instead of going quietly into the night, his star power grew to include a collaboration and friendship with Snoop Dogg that continues to this day.
