Kamala Harris’s campaign criticized the former president donald trump for his refusal to join the vice president for another debate before the November election.

Trump recently declined to accept CNN’s invitation by Thursday’s deadline for a debate between him and Harris later this month. In addition, Trump declined another invitation from Fox News hours after the network made the announcement.

According to CNN Brian Stelterif Trump declined CNN’s invitation but accepted Fox’s, the campaign would likely have said yes to that invitation. However, the GOP nominee has remained steadfast in his vow not to debate Harris again before November after his September debate on ABC News.

“Donald Trump’s refusal to rejoin Vice President Harris on the debate stage is a disservice to the American people,” Harris’ campaign chairman said. Jen O’Malley Dillon in a statement. “They deserve to see the candidates side by side one more time before voting for one last look at their very different visions of America.”

Harris’ presidential campaign criticized Trump for backing away from the traditional primary 60 minutes interview to, instead, “cocoon in safe spaces” within the conservative media.

“Trump may want to hide from voters, but Vice President Harris welcomes the opportunity to share her vision for a new way forward for the country. She is thrilled to accept CNN’s invitation for a live televised town hall on Oct. 23 in Pennsylvania,” Dillon added.
