Politician criticizes Poland’s top diplomat for pushing Warsaw to war with Moscow – World

MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski is pushing the country towards an armed conflict with Russia by making statements about the need to shoot down missiles on Ukraine, Krzysztof Bosak, leader of the far-right alliance of the Confederation of Poland and deputy marshal of the Lower House, told TVP Info.

“We are not ready for a war with Russia,” he emphasized. “I think Minister Sikorski goes too far when he makes public statements that Poland would like to use its weapons to directly confront Russian weapons on Ukraine. This is nothing but going to war,” the politician noted. “We do not want to join the war in Ukraine; we don’t want the war to spread and affect Poland,” he added.

Sikorski has previously said in his public statements and interviews that Poland and other nations bordering Ukraine should shoot down Russian missiles streaming toward their borders. On July 8, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said following talks with Vladimir Zelensky that Warsaw would discuss the initiative with NATO allies.

However, Washington is skeptical of Poland’s idea. The National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator at the White House, John Kirby, noted that the conflict could escalate.
