Just over a month after Grohl revealed the shocking news via an Instagram post, insiders have spoken People about how the Blums are navigating the situation while prioritizing their daughters Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.

A source said People that Blum “doesn’t want to make hasty decisions because they all affect their girls.” The source added: “She is still unhappy and not wearing the wedding ring but things have calmed down. She leans on friends.”

From Grohl, the original musician met with a divorce lawyer before making his announcement. However, a source said People on Nov. 1 that Grohl is “no longer working with a divorce attorney and is instead hoping to work things out with his wife.”

“Dave has put his family first,” another source said. “He knows he messed up. It’s one of those situations where you don’t realize what you’ve got until you’re about to lose it. He doesn’t want to lose his family.”

On September 10, Grohl made headlines after posting a statement on Instagram revealing that he “recently became the father of a new daughter born out of wedlock.”

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and children and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he wrote. “We are grateful for your consideration for all the children involved as we move forward together.”

It was reported that Blum had “known for some time” about the child and was focused on healing in private. She has not publicly addressed the situation.
