Source | Vice President Kamala Harris Offers Final Pitch to Young Voters: ‘I Love Generation Z’

It’s now or never for Vice President Kamala Harris in the final showdown for the youth vote. Especially Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

It all went down at Michigan’s last vice presidential rally before Election Day, with Vice President Kamala Harris urging Michigan State University students to help deliver a Democratic victory, noting that “the momentum is on our side.”

Speaking to a large crowd as Harris brings them out, she encouraged students to bring their friends to the polls, telling them, “Michigan, you’re going to make a difference in this election.” Harris, who campaigned six days earlier at the University of Michigan, praised Gen Z as being “totally impatient” about issues like abortion, gun violence and climate change, adding: “This is your lived experience and i see you and i see you your strength.”

In a shift without directly mentioning her opponent, Donald Trump, Harris alluded to him, positioning herself as the candidate of change despite her four years as vice president. “We have the opportunity in this election to finally turn the page on a decade of politics driven by fear and division,” she said, calling for “a new beginning” for the country.

As you can imagine, with Tuesday’s election looming and early voting underway, Harris’ campaign is focused on mobilizing young voters, a critical bloc for Michigan Democrats.

East Lansing reported more than 1,000 early voters Sunday, while the MSU campus voting center will allow students to register and vote on Election Day.

That’s a big deal.

Harris opened his powerful remarks by acknowledging the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, pledging to work for peace that protects civilians. MSU student Jeovannie Mendez, among the attendees, praised her message but noted that opinions on her response to the conflict are mixed. Mendez, like many students, said he feels motivated by issues like abortion and healthcare. Expressing his optimism, he noted, “Whatever happens, it wouldn’t be the worst, but Kamala is the better option.”

Listen, with polls in Michigan showing a tight race between Harris and Trump, Harris’ appeal to students underscores the importance of youth voter turnout for a Democratic victory in this key state.

What it all boils down to is turnout. Which candidate brings out the most voters and Gen Z and Gen Alpha can make all the difference that shapes this country for their entire lives. Yes, it is that serious and we hope young voters know the power they have.
