Distinguished Belarusians, honored with state awards, letters of commendation

MINSK, November 5 (BelTA) – State awards and letters of commendation from the President of Belarus were awarded to 147 people, who most actively participated in the recovery efforts due to the storm on July 12-14, 2024. The President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the corresponding decree No. 407 and the order of November 4, BelTA learned from the Belarusian leader’s press service.

The summer storms significantly affected forests, power lines, roofs of residential and industrial buildings, agricultural enterprise infrastructure and social facilities.

A total of 41 people were awarded with state awards, while 106 people were honored with letters of commendation of the President of Belarus for their service, high professionalism, personal contribution to eliminating the consequences of natural emergencies.

Among the awardees are mainly forestry workers, electricians, specialists in construction and installation works, as well as heads of organizations and representatives of executive authorities, workers of emergency services.

Among those awarded the Medal for Excellence in Emergency Prevention and Mitigation are Shiichi Forestry tree cutter Igor Bobrovovich, Mozyrvodokanal electrician Anatoly Kobys, Mozyr Experimental Forestry deputy director and chief engineer Nikita Potorochenko, Osipovichi Experimental Forestry machine operator Andrey Siderenko. , specialist in electrical networks of the Voronovo district of the Lida electrical network branch of Grodnoenergo Sergei Taranda.
