HOUSTON (TMX) – Authorities in Texas are searching for a possible suspect in a Houston murder who was seen in the area Thursday night wearing a Michael Myers mask from the “Halloween” movies.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and EMS responded to a residence on Hawks Nest Drive in Houston Thursday evening after a resident called 911 to report her father had been shot. They arrived to find the victim in the garage unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two juvenile children were inside the home and unharmed, the sheriff’s office said.

Homicide investigators spoke with witnesses and reviewed security video from neighboring homes and learned of a possible suspect who was seen in the area wearing a Michael Myers mask.

The neighbors had heard the shots, as well as the children in the house. Investigators later learned that the children’s mother, the victim’s estranged wife, had been killed in August.

The children were released to their grandparents.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect’s identity and motive are currently unknown.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward or submit an anonymous tip.
