The government is working to make a non-discrimination society: Councilor Ariff

The government is working to make a non-discrimination society because the students and martyred people have fought for this purpose, the Councilor for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives AF Hassan Ariff said today (November 1).

The government has already started reform work to make a society free from all kinds of discrimination, he said while attending a discussion organized by Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee and Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad in Dhakeshwari National Temple in the city.

Principal of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Purnatmananda Maharaj, President of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Bashudeb Dhar and its General Secretary Santosh Sharma, Father of Ramna Catholic Church Albert Rogario and Director of Atish Dipankar Memorial Complex Vadantha Karunananda Thero took part in the discussion with President Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee Jayanta Kumar Deb is the President.

Describing the reforms as a continuous process, the adviser urged the next government to continue the reform work for the greater national interest.

“We must bring reforms as we cannot allow any project to hinder the martyrs’ sacrifice,” he said.

The councilor also urged everyone to be united to eliminate all kinds of discrimination in the society so that everyone can exercise equal rights as a citizen of the republic.
