After Hoda, Is Carson Daly Quitting The Today Show (And The Voice)? Why his latest comments worry me

I can’t imagine that Carson DalyHe has a light work schedule at NBC. In addition to 13 years as host of The voicewhose 26th season is currently airing on TV schedule 2024the former MTV VJ added a morning gig when he signed on Today’s show in 2013. Who needs sleep anyway? Now with his morning colleague Hoda Kotb plans to retire in 2025, I’m worried Daly might not be far behind, especially after some troubling comments he just made.

Fans were shocked when they are loved Today’s show co-host Hoda Kotb announced her impending exit from the long-running NBC morning show. She said she wished she could spend more time with her two young daughters and while Carson Daly’s first reaction was sadness that he wouldn’t be able to see her every day, it seems to me that he doesn’t think leaving is such a bad idea. He told him Daily Mail:

Wow, I can’t wait to get away from the TV! I still see Jay Leno on TV and I’m like, “Why?” No, I’m… I’m looking to downsize. I lost my father when I was five, so my time with my children is the most precious.

Carson Daly has been on TV for over half his lifeand things are completely different than when he was there video countdown TRL on MTV in the late ’90s. Especially since he lost his father at such a young age, I can understand why he might consider how his own children are affected by his demanding career. Hoda Kotb might just be the impetus to make a big change, as she continued:

That’s what I think about Hoda, I’m happy for her, she’ll have more time. It is much more important to get your children to school.

Carson Daly’s wife, Siri Pinter, is probably responsible for getting their four kids to school these days. They share son Jackson, 15, and daughters Etta, 11, London, 9, and Goldie, 4.

My big question is if the NBC host decides to cut back on her professional duties, will she go Today’s show, The voice or both? He hasn’t given any indication of what job he’ll prioritize, but if it’s important to him to be part of his kids’ morning routine, that may be our answer.
