Georgia’s secretary of state says election disinformation in state could be from ‘Russian troll farms’

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office says Russian troll farms are behind election disinformation targeting voters in the state.

“Earlier today, our office learned that a video purporting to show a Haitian immigrant with multiple IDs from Georgia claiming to have voted multiple times,” Raffensperger said Thursday “This is false and is an example of targeted disinformation that we have seen in this election. It is likely that foreign interference will try to sow discord and chaos on the eve of the election.”

Raffensperger’s office has asked the leaders of social media companies, including X’s Elon Musk, to remove misinformation from their platforms, saying it is “probably a product of Russian troll farms.”
