Elko woman arrested on drug charges

ELKO, Nev. (KOLO) – An Elko woman has been arrested on drug charges following a drug bust that briefly put an area high school on lockdown.

Chelsey Allan, 29, was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police executed a search warrant at her home. The Elko Police Department says they were following up on reports that Allan was selling psilocybin mushrooms and methamphetamine from her home.

Police say while they were watching the home, they saw one of Allan’s children place a package outside the home. Police later discovered that this package contained mushrooms with a note on the package for one of her alleged customers.

Allan was booked into the Elko County Jail on drug charges and allowing a child to be present during sales of a controlled substance. Her bail was set at $350,000.

Elko High School was placed under a shelter for what police said was “several moments” while the search warrant was executed.
