On the last day of early voting in Georgia, 50% of voters cast their ballots

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – Friday is the last day of early voting in Georgia before Election Day next Tuesday.

The Secretary of State’s office says 50 percent of Georgia voters have already cast their ballots, which is a record.

3.4 million people in Georgia have already gone to the polls and voted, and the Secretary of State’s Office says turnout is expected to increase on the final day of early voting.

If you look at the early voting numbers this time in the 2020 election, 2.3 million people cast their ballots at the same time. In 2022, this number was less than 2 million people.

42% of active voters in Chatham County have already cast their ballots this year. If you’re not in the 42% but want to get your vote in on Friday.

There are seven locations in the county to do this. Most locations are open from at least 9 am 5 am, although the Voter Registration Annex opens at 7 am and closes at 7 pm, while Mosquito Control and the Civic Center are open from 8 am to 6 :00.

Although half the state has already cast their ballots, that hasn’t stopped the campaign here in the Coastal Empire either.

First Lady Dr. Jill Biden is expected to do it campaign in Savannah Saturday.
