Festive markets, Diwali, free curling and a Gospel Mission fundraiser highlight weekend events in the Central Okanagan – Kelowna News

Free curling, a fundraiser for the Kelowna Gospel Mission, Diwali celebrations and the start of the Christmas shopping season highlight events in the central Okanagan this week.

At the Rotary Center for the Arts, Craft culture kicks off its holiday market cycle with Winter Warm Up on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you miss out, there will also be markets at the Delta Grand Hotel on November 10, at RCA again on November 29 and 30 and at Prospera Place from December 6. until Dec. 8

In Lake Country, the 35th annual Christmas Craft Sale takes over the memorial hall on Bottom Wood Lake Road on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A first-of-its-kind Diwali market is held on Saturday at Don-O-Ray Farms from 11am to 3pm The farm partners with East Kelowna Market and invites the public to experience the joy and color of the festival of lights.

The Kelowna Curling Club hosts a free youth open session from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. No need to register, just show up a few minutes before the start time. Participants receive hot dogs, hot chocolate and floss.

The Kelowna Gospel Mission is set to host its grand opening Ultimate Takeout Challenge Grand Final and Gala on Saturday at the Metro Hub on Ellis Street. After six weeks of competition, the final two chefs will face off in a culinary showdown, creating dishes using mystery ingredients. The goal of the gala is to raise $50,000 for the Kelowna Gospel Mission.
