Burglary suspect, 4 guns found in vehicle stolen from short-term rental in North Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is in custody and facing a slew of charges after he’s accused of stealing a car from a short-term rental in an area just north of downtown Nashville.

According to an arrest report, Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) robbery detectives spotted a red Chevrolet Camaro without a license plate in the area of ​​Blank and Jackson streets on Tuesday, October 29th.

Authorities reported that the Camaro matched the description of a vehicle that was taken during a burglary the same day.

Detectives said they tracked the vehicle with the assistance of an MNPD helicopter, and the suspect — identified as 33-year-old Antonio Holcomb — was arrested after a brief foot chase.

An arrest report states the Camaro was stolen from a short-term rental in the 1000 block of 12 Avenue North. Surveillance footage of the incident captured a man wearing a gray hoodie, jeans and green shoes taking the car from the residence. Police said Holcomb was wearing those exact clothes when he was arrested.

While searching the vehicle, detectives reported finding a rifle and three handguns inside.

the vehicle break-in happened around 6 p.m., and detectives found the Camaro at about 9 p.m., according to an arrest report.

Because of a prior domestic assault conviction, police said Holcomb should not be in possession of firearms.

Holcomb was charged with robbery, four counts of theft of a firearm, four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, theft of property and evading arrest.

He is being held in the Metro Jail on $68,500 bond.
