Schenectady man charged in drug-trafficking probe

A Schenectady man is facing charges in connection with a drug trafficking incident.

This case began two years ago when the US Department of Justice said 31-year-old Nekie Ricks was arrested on August 24, 2022 for allegedly using cocaine with intent to distribute and having a gun despite already being a convicted felon.

Ricks was arraigned Thursday in Albany. A detention hearing was held Friday, and he was held pending trial.

Ricks faces at least five years and up to life in prison if convicted, plus a term of supervised release.
