Andhra Pradesh government forms GoM to monitor prices and market stabilization

VIJAYAWADA: In a decisive step to curb price spikes of essential commodities, the government has formed a Group of Ministers (GdM) focused on price monitoring, regulation and market intervention. This group is tasked with anticipating and analyzing price increases in major agricultural and other essential commodities while formulating strategies to stabilize markets in the short, medium and long term.

Chaired by the Minister of Consumer, Food and Civil Supply, the Government of the Republic of Moldova includes the Ministers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Marketing Cooperation, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Health, Family Welfare, Medical Education, Finance, Planning and Commercial Taxes as its core members . The Government is supported by the Ex-Officio Secretary of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies, who will act as Member Secretary for coordinating and convening meetings. The group is authorized to invite other ministers and officers for expert input.

A significant focus of the Government will be the development of seasonal strategies for production, supply and prices. The government will consider changes to the harvesting pattern as well as potential import and export adjustments for essential commodities. In addition, the committee will be responsible for suggesting equitable distribution measures such as subsidies or market interventions. The government will also consider the recommendations of the State Level Committee on Price Monitoring, Regulation and Market Intervention (SLC-PMRM) for final approval.

GoM constituted for job creation of 20 lakh

The government on Saturday constituted a Group of Ministers (GoM) to review and suggest measures to create 20 million jobs in the state.

With a commitment to create substantial employment opportunities by focusing on key sectors and leveraging the strengths of the state, the government has constituted a Government to suggest measures and corrections in the medium term and to institutionalize an appropriate monitoring mechanism with the following members.

While Minister Lokesh (Human Resource Development, IT Electronics & Communication; RTG; Skill Development) is the Chairman, Ministers TG Bharath (Industries & Commerce, Food Processing), Gottipati Ravi Kumar (Energy), Kandula Durgesh (Tourism & Cinematography) , Ponguru Narayana (MA&UD), Kondapalli Srinivas (MSME, SERP and NRI Empowerment and Relations) are the GoM members.
