Live updates, scores, stats and highlights from today’s matchweek nine

The ACC has had plenty of highly-touted matchups this year, whether it’s games between conference newcomers, dark horse teams pushing for the title, or long-standing rivalries that have rich conference histories.

Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech, effectively known as the “TechMo Bowl” or “Battle of the Techs,” has had so much history in the ACC, specifically the ACC Coastal Division.

In the first ten iterations of the TechMo Bowl, seven of the rivalry game winners have been ranked, but since the 2012 game in Blacksburg, where the Hokies no. 16 won in overtime, none of the winners of this game were ranked.

That trend won’t change this year, as Virginia Tech received some AP Top 25 votes in the preseason, and Georgia Tech was ranked No. 10 after their win at Florida State.

This game could be historic for both teams, with Virginia Tech looking to stay in contention for the ACC title and Georgia Tech becoming bowl eligible with a win today at Lane Stadium.
