The 2-to-1 advantage continues for the GOP in early in-person voting

Democrats are 400,000 votes short as of Saturday morning. Will the weekend reverse the trend?

Democrats will want to offset a growing Republican advantage in early voting if they have any hope of ensuring that the 2022 debacle is not repeated during this year’s presidential cycle.

As of Saturday morning, Republicans have more than half a million voting advantage early voting turnout: 1,034,177 to 514,652 for Democrats.

With nearly 378,000 NPA and third-party registrants already voting in person, the statistics raise questions about the success of the GOTV operation this week and raise the stakes for the Souls to the Polls events this weekend and next.

Democrats lead in mail-in ballots received: 824,028 to 704,311.

Still, the GOP has a lead of about 400,000 votes.

Republicans are confident.

Strategist Ryan Tyson say turnout patterns suggest Donald Trump and Rick Scott could win the presidential and Senate races by more than 10 points, respectively.
