Social media reacts as CSK captain not named in India squad for Australia Tests

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced an 18-member squad for the five-match Test series against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. While India have won their last two Test series Down Under, they are currently under pressure to defend their 18-match winning streak at home after conceding a massive first-innings lead at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium ( MCA), Pune.

While the team was in line with the expected lines with the likes of Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhimanyu Easwaran finding a place in the side, there was no place for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Ruturaj Gaikwad. Fans accused the BCCI of “favoritism” while some wondered what went wrong for the batsman.
