19-year-old charged in Bond Hill’s August slaying, court documents say

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A second person has been charged in an August 2024 murder in Bond Hill.

Jahontae Mills, 19, was indicted Thursday on multiple charges, including aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and aggravated robbery, court documents show.

On August 27, Javione Bradford, 20and Mills allegedly tried to rob a 26-year-old man Aaron Myles.

The attempted robbery resulted in a shooting, and Cincinnati Police and EMS were dispatched to the 1700 block of Garden Lane around 6:40 p.m.

When they arrived, they found Myles inside his vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, but was later pronounced dead.

Cincinnati police arrested Bradford on murder charges and took him to Mills for questioning on October 17.

According to the affidavit, Mills told Cincinnati police detectives: “I sold Baby Crow the phone used to set up the robbery that resulted in the death of Aaron Myles.”

Mills was initially charged with tampering with evidence, but it was dropped after police discovered it was a false statement.

He is believed to have lied to police to “prevent the discovery” of his involvement in the crime, the affidavit said. He faces an additional charge of contempt of police officers.

Mills and Bradford are currently behind bars at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Mills’ bond was set at $51,000 at 10 percent, while Bradford’s bond was set at $3.5 million.
