The search is on for the driver who allegedly hit and chased a bicyclist in Waimanalo

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Authorities are searching for a driver who allegedly hit and chased a bicyclist in Waimanalo on Wednesday.

The events happened around 11.40pm

According to HPD, a 27-year-old man was riding his bicycle when a car hit him from behind.

Authorities said the man was thrown into the hood. He then got off and tried to flee on his bike, but that’s when the driver allegedly chased him, causing the rider to crash into a chain link fence.

The driver fled the scene and is still at large.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

HPD has opened an attempted homicide investigation.
